Meet The Team
Lili
Winston-Salem has been my home since 1983. Before becoming a full-time mother of two, my professional career was teaching special needs elementary students. Since then I have enjoyed volunteering at various schools, at my church and for Meals on Wheels.
It has been my privilege to have known Linda as a friend for over 15 years and as a business associate for more than 6. I, along with her, endeavor to help our clients navigate the challenging experience of change.
Linda
I’ve lived in Winston-Salem for 32 years. I am active in my church as an elder and as a member of the choir. Volunteering and serving on the Board of Directors for Riverwood Therapeutic Riding Center has been an important part of my life for the past 20 years.
My background is in the financial industry. My hobbies include music and “lake life” with my family! I have two grown children and two labs.
As a Team:
- We provide comprehensive, personalized and professional services to families in the forsyth county community.
- We help clients find new homes for treasures they can no longer use.
- We work closely with area nonprofits and charitable organizations.
- We re-cycle whenever possible, keeping materials out of our landfill.
I had not moved since purchasing my home 46 years ago, and as I am single and a male, I was naturally clueless about the process. Things To Go proved to be an excellent choice for assistance with my downsizing and moving to another city. They were kind, wise, organized and well-connected, and were thus very helpful in everything as I went through the trauma of leaving my longtime home and “releasing” its accumulated “stuff”. I was constantly amazed at the number and complication of matters they were able to accomplish on my behalf.
Lili and Linda,
We sincerely thank you for your assistance in helping move our parents out of their home. We didn’t know where to turn and found you by accident while searching for down-sizing services in Winston-Salem. We now know it was divine intervention that placed you in our path.
Your experience, expertise, and knowledge of resources in Forsyth County made the process short and easy. We also liked the fact that you “released”, salvaged or donated so many items to local organizations that could repurpose those items to new homes. Your honesty and trustworthiness were reflective in the fact that you did what you said you would do within the timeframe and projected budget. We enjoyed working with you and highly recommend your services!!!!
Sincerely,
Things To Go (aka Lili and Linda) saved the day for our in-town move!
Within 2 weeks of our house closing and move, our original mover went dark, with no response. Of course, we were in a panic.
Our realtor contacted TTG, who came the same day and provided a plan and estimates. Within a week, crews were on site and our move went smoothly, without major issues.
Having moved numerous times over the years, we fully endorse Things To Go. For us, they were a great fit, and turned a crisis into a very positive experience. We highly recommend them as partners in very stressful transitions.
As a Real Estate agent I know how important it is to have people you can count on. Things To Go has been invaluable for my clients who are selling a home, settling an estate of a parent or of a loved one, or who are downsizing and are overwhelmed with the process. The Things To Go ladies are very patient and helpful with clients who are struggling with giving up a lifetime of collections and memories. I highly recommend them!
Things To Go absolutely saved our family this April. We were first sold on them because of their commitment to throw away as little as possible. They used dozens of different methods and resources to empty our parents’ house for us, saving us hundreds of hours of work and all the emotion that entails. Their expertise and efficiency in managing a house full of stuff was truly priceless, doing a lot of “heavy lifting” for us when we needed it most.
After our father died this past Thanksgiving, we received the recommendation to call Things To Go to help us with the massive undertaking of going through our parents’ home to get it ready to sell. We had the extra challenge of the four of us living in different locations across the country. Little did we know that when Darlene, Lili, and Linda showed up at our door that we would be working with genuine angels! They took care of us like we were THEIR family! Everything was handled with such care, compassion, thought, honesty, and respect. Not only did they help us get the house ready to sell, but they also made sure everything had a place to go after the house sold. And they even sold our parents’ car for more than expected! We knew our parents were smiling knowing that we had this priceless help during a very emotional and difficult time. We are beyond thankful to this incredible service provided by three very special ladies.
My wife and I hired Things To Go to vacate my mother’s two-bedroom Redbud Unit at Bermuda Village. We could not have been more pleased with the very reasonably-priced services provided by the group, which consists of three wonderful ladies in Winston-Salem who have developed relationships with many local charitable and consignment entities. They created a comprehensive inventory of all “things to go”, and completely emptied the unit in only three days.
Wow! You all are amazing women. You all have helped me in so many more ways that you can imagine!!! I can’t thank you enough.
The Things To Go Team recently helped my family. Not only were they professional but efficient, thorough and helpful in helping us decide what to let go and what to save. They are extremely trustworthy and a true joy to work with. I cannot imagine where we would be without their help!
The Things To Go team is great. Planning and execution are superb! They know what needs to be done and they get it done. A true bonus is that they are extraordinarily nice ladies, easy to work with, and you miss them when they leave.
“Thank goodness for Things To Go! My mother passed away recently, and I was overwhelmed at the prospect of cleaning out her house at Arbor Acres. Enter Linda, Darlene and Lili with Things To Go. They struck the perfect balance between hard-working professionals and compassionate, thoughtful women. I had such a good experience that I hired them to organize and de-clutter my home.”
“Whether you are coming, going, or staying, I highly recommend Things To Go!”
“I will be forever thankful for the services of the Things To Go ladies. It was my responsibility to clear the contents our of my sister’s townhouse after it sold. I didn’t know where to start! Thanks to the recommendation of a friend, I called Things To Go, met with the ladies, and right away knew that they were the answer to my prayer for help.”
“With their network of people, organizations, and services, and their helpful advice and hard work, the townhouse was emptied in 7 days.”
“I highly recommend Things To Go. I’ll most certainly call them again when my stuff needs to go!”
“I HATE moving. It’s physically exhausting, emotionally draining, and time consuming. But is was time.”
“Enter Things To Go.”
“They provided me with a very helpful guide to get me started that included numerous resources for donation locations, furniture repair people, movers, timelines, reminders and more.”
“No stress, no meltdowns, no strained back. It was a great move. And a better move in. They COMPLETELY unpacked us! The house was set up and ready for us to settle in.”
“Things To Go will customize their services to what you need. I HIGHLY recommend them.”
“I could not have made my move without the help of Things To Go.”
“Several months ago I started getting ready to move from a large home to a small apartment in a retirement community. Unfortunately I have no family close by – so no one to help me sort through a lifetime collection of antiques, clothes, garden tools, art supplies, books, etc… (Also Covid-19 restrictions meant that friends couldn’t come and help.) So, I called the gals at Things To Go.”
“They helped me sort through things in the attic, my closets, my drawers, my basement. We selected things I wanted to keep for my new apartment. After my move, the gals unpacked all my boxes – all 80 of them! And found a new place for everything. Then, as if this was not enough – the ladies went back to my old house and cleared out all the things I left behind: sold some, gave some away to charitable institutions, and disposed of what was left.”
“Throughout the process the ladies were personable, cheerful and fun to be with. I am immensely grateful for their help – I call them my MIRACLE WORKERS.”
“Thank you so much for the excellent job you did clearing out our mother’s apartment. You three ladies are professional, positive, and have a can do attitude. I especially appreciate how you have developed your network of vendors and charitable organizations. Everything found a good home!”
“I feel so fortunate to have found Things To Go. Thank you does not express the emotions, thoughts, and love (sister hugs) you gave to make our move smooth. A THOUSAND stars to Things To Go.
